The countdown continues

It's not the same without that bothersome dog underfoot.  June is winding down.  I'll pick up Larsen in mid-July and start training with him again.  Tim has Larsen in the field daily and the dog is minding his manners and retrieving pigeons.

Larsen observes the work of the other dogs during some downtime at Tim's in Bowman, Ga.

The hard-working dog gets his chance.

Springtime in Chicago

Every April weekend, the bridges along the Chicago River are raised for a few minutes to allow the tall boats to pass from their winter quarters along the river to their summer home in Burnham Harbor in Lake Michigan.  A relatively rare weekday lift produced this photo.  The weather was bright and cool, and the sight provided a tantalizing prospect of summer.

Mid-summer evening

The crape myrtle is heavy with lilac-colored blossoms.

Clouds of hydrangeas.

Larsen enjoys his shady arbor.

While we enjoy our freedoms

We remember those who have preserved them.
