After four months as a kennel dog, Larsen looked more like a small bear than a spaniel. Aki took an initial hack at his coat, and then, graciously, Penny W. offered to come help.
Penny gives Larsen the once over
Aki and Penny worked on the mutt for at least an hour. Aki wants to show him in Greenville, SC this weekend. I thought he was still pretty rough, he's scrawny as a rail: you can feel his ribs and backbone. Penny waved the clippers like a magic wand and out from all of that fur popped a Welshie head. She also gave Aki some great tips on how to groom one of these animals. He really looked like our old dog again.
It might be good to get him used to the show ring again in case we take him to nationals. He is still pretty raw looking, though.
